Goodbye Internship :)

Yes!!! I have finally finished my internship. Last friday was my last day and this monday was the first monday in 12 weeks where i feel so totally relaxed and at peace. The only bad part is that I start my last semester this coming Monday. *Sigh* One week of holiday is not enough, i need another week.

Overall my internship was ok, although... I think i did the same thing for the whole 12 weeks i was there, with the exception of gaining a new skill as a professional glassware packer and mover (my office shifted while i was doing my intership from PJ to UPM in serdang). While i am so happy that i have finished my internship I will definitely miss the interns there, especially the three other interns who joined together with me (there are still there as they have a longer internship period). Good times, they made me laugh and keep me company and also took milo breaks with me. ;p

Keep in touch girls. And thanks for the cake, I really appreciate it. Will miss you guys. XOXO

The other interns who left together with me.

Broga Hill

There were 14 of us all together, but somehow only 7 of us took a group pic.

I finally went for a hike in Broga Hill and it was awesome, although quite dangerous. I've always wanted to go for a hike up Broga Hill. These days it seems like everyone is hiking up Broga, and that includes me too. lol. I went for a sunset hike on thursday, but only managed to get to the first peak though due to lack of time. I think it took about 30 minutes for us to reach the first peak. We started the hike down from the first peak at 6.30.

At the first peak. :D

The hike up was ok, the 'forest' part was fine. But once you start to hit the peak, that part was horrible. Not because it was physically demanding, but because of the terrain. Mabye coz i wasn't wearing good shoes (my nike shoes were kinda worn out) but it was really slippery. The terrain was plain sandy. It didn't have any grass, or rocks to really step on, all it had was... sand. It felt like the moment you stepped down, you would slip down, and off the hill.... Which was plain scary. At one point I was stuck, I knew that if i moved a muscle, i would start slipping, and i couldn't go down, coz it was so steep. And then, i made the mistake of looking down and went whoa.... (i'm not afraid of heights btw), and just ran up. I was freakin terrified of slipping and falling off the cliff. No kidding, seriously. Me and my friends went up using both hands and feet. And we came down on our butts. It was so steep, we were afraid we would roll down Broga if we went down on our feet. Surprisingly, going down was easier than going up. But that was probably coz we took the wrong route up....

On the way down.

All in all, Broga was really fun. I want to go again, this time for a sunrise hike. And i want to hit all three peaks this time... Hmm, another hike up Broga, and Tabur too, hopefully, before I start my new semester.

Hiking up to the peak.
It doesn't look steep in the picture, but it really was steep.

Work schedule and holidays.

I am sooo thankful for my holidays now. Since I started my internship, i really appreciate public holidays and weekends. Its like, wake up at 7, leave house at 7.45, arrive at office at 8.15a.m and leave office at5.30p.m. I reach home at 6.00 (on days which i don't go to the gym. On days which i do go to the gym, I just feel dead by the time i'm home). Have dinner and by the time i'm done with dinner I'm just exhausted. All i wanna do is go to sleep. When semester is on, usually I sleep around 4 a.m, but now i can't even open my eyes pass 12 midnight, even for my favourite korean shows.

Speaking of public holidays, tomorrow is a holiday. Finally!!! Yesterday, from the moment I got up till i went to sleep, i just felt two emotions, tired and sleepy. I got home, ate dinner, and took a nap from 8 till 10p.m. Got up at 10p.m, online till 12 midnight, and went back to sleep again. I think its safe to say i'm sleep deprived. I need more sleep!!!!

Although tomorrow is a holiday, i still have to get up early. :( Breakfast at Ikea, and buy pineapple tarts (I think the pineapple tarts they sold last year were tastier, but this year is quite ok), mabye go shoe shopping... Mabye... Then, cut my hair (my mum has been bugging me to cut it for like a month). Then hopefully I can make it on time for a hike in Broga to catch the sunset. I've always wanted to go... But I've never been. Hopefully I can go tomorrow. Hmmm... Even on my holiday i'm busy. *sigh*

On another note, I finally got my ipod back, after three weeks and a hefty RM501 to replace my hardware. I feel so disconnected without my ipod. Definitely made teaching Body Jam much harder, not being able to mix tracks. I've learnt my lesson, i'll never jump around with my ipod again. The person in the apple store said that its coz i jump around with my ipod, which caused the hardware to spoil. But, finally I have it back. From now on, whenever I need to practice, i'll just plug my ipod into my laptop.

Oh btw, i just watchied on live stream the Christening of Disney Dream, the new Disney Cruise Ship. If you don't know by now, I am a huge Disney junkie, especially all thing about the Disney parks in California and Florida. I so wanna go to Disneyworld in Florida, that's my dream vacation....

The Hill

View from the second floor.

Went for drinks at The Hills in Damansara heights last weekend. The place was quite nice and the setting was good. It would have been better if we sat at the terrace, but because by the time we arrived the place was already quite crowded we had to sit at the second floor, where it had more of a club feel rather than a bar. On to the drinks. I tried almost every drink there was over there, but I only ordered the watermelon slush. I sampled my friends drinks. Haha. We went in a huge group and everybody ordered different drink so we could test try all of the drinks there.

The watermelon slush was really nice, especially when drank cold. Watermelon slush was the only drink which i liked. No I didn't finish it on my own, I shared it with a friend. Ended up we only drank half in and another friend finished it. Watermelon slush (vodka, lychee liqueur and of course watermelon - RM40.

Pink elephant (red wine, rum, lemon juice, lemonade and fresh fruit cubes - RM40). I didn't really like this drink. It was too sour for my taste, and you can taste and chew the lemon skin which was in the drink. The red wine taste was quite strong. Overall the drink was ok.

Chemistry lab experiment (vodka, blue curacao, and cranberry juice - RM28). This drink had a real strong liquor taste, but overall it was ok.

Coconut - RM25 i think. Not really sure. It kinda taste like coconut candy instead of a drink. I think it has Malibu in it, which would explain the really sweat taste. If you have a sweet tooth you'll definitely like this drink.

Love potion (blue curacao, butterscotch, and baileys - RM25). This was probably the worst one... The taste was just weird. And it wasn't liquidy... It was more like.... you were drinking in rice.

Weed Killer (absinthe rum, vodka, gin, tequila, creme de menthe, and apple juice - RM60). I didn't try this drink, so no comments on how it tasted like. But the way to drink it definitely looked scary. lol.

I wouldn't mind going back again, the ambiance was nice. Overall the place was ok. But i'll probably be ordering watermelon slush if i went back again. And next time i definitely want to sit in the lower terrace. ;p

Day 3, Cherating

Early in the morning on day 3.

Day 3, when I woke up, it wasn't raining, and finally I saw a bit of sun. But halfway while I was having breakfast, it started raining again. Oh well, so we checked out at around 11 and left Cherating at around 11.30. The drive home actully took five hours and thirty minutes. One hour and thirty minutes longer than the drive there. Probably coz we took a detour at Bentong for lunch and also there were more cars on the road while I was driving back.

Bentong rest stop. Surrounded by trees, very nice.

The drive there was around 300km, but the drive back was like 323 km. Overall, if anybody is heading to the east coast, I would say its ok to drive there. The road is good and scenic, nice drive, provided its not packed with cars. But I would not go back to Cherating in December, it just rains non-stop (I know i've said that like a million times). I would not recommend going during the monsoon seasons unless you want to enjoy the rain or the Genting Highland-like weather.

Drunken crab, this was actually quite good.
But the crab was small.

The food there is over-rated. Do not go for the food. My mum even caught food posoining from the sambal (probably coz it was not clean). She was purging for two days and even vomited once on the journey back. So, if you're heading to the east coast, just eat in the hotel.

The pool.
They have a separate adult and children pool, which is good.

Speaking of which, The Legend Hotel, I won't recommend staying in it. We were lucky to get a showroom, so the room was clean. But before my mum complained, the previous room we were placed smelled really funky. The hotel totally needs to undergo refurbishing. Oh and the speed at which the hotel staff work, is reallllyyy slllloooowwwwwww. No kidding, its like you have to wait 15 minutes for a cup of water. I don't know if that's the speed at which people work in Cherating, but it was toooo slooowww for my liking. Aside from that, the staff are really friendly, so that's a plus. Erm, the pool is kinda sandy, probably coz people dun wash themselves before going into the pool, but the pool is big and nice. And the ocean is definitely unswimmable due to the strong current.

View from the hotel restaurant. Nice.

All in all, if your aim is for a relaxing and quiet beach holiday, this place is perfect for you. But for me, its a bit too quiet at night. Luckily i bought my gadgets along to keep me company. That's it for this holiday. Hopefully the next family holiday will be in Pangkor Laut. I wanna goooo......

Family pic using the mirror. ;p

Day 2, Cherating

My room was soooo cold that the glass fogged up.
This was taken in the morning, before breakfast.

I woke up in the morning and it was still raining. It rained continuously for one whole night, up till the evening. Seriously Cherating has got soooo much rain, it didn't stop at all. And i did not see the sun for two whole days, just black clouds and dark sky.

Went out to the turtle santuary in the afternoon after lunch but unfortunately there were no turtles. Well, it wasn't turtle breeding season anyways. It was also raining super heavily when we were at the turtle santuary. Like I said, it rains non-stop in Cherating. Quite amazing actually, that there is sooo much rainwater in Cherating. I have never seen so much rain in my life.

Finally, finally, in the afternoon I got my chance to take a walk at the beach. I only went into the ocean till knee deep, coz the water current was so strong, it was scary. And the water was sandy. By the time I wanted to take a swim in the pool, it started raining... again.... In the end, I just swam under the rain water. Didn't care anymore, I just wanted to swim.

Shortly before dinner, it stopped raining, till the next morning. I took a long walk by the beach. Actually, the place is really zen and peaceful. It would have been better if it didn't rained so much and if the sun came out a little, but it was the monsoon season. I should have known better, I just didn't think it would rain non-stop.

Fresh ikan (pari, or stingray) bakar.
Me and my bro did not get food poisoining as we did not eat anything spicy.

After dinner, went to eat Ikan Bakar at the small shops near my hotel. Trust me, the food in Cherating is over-rated. There was nothing special about it, the only thing is that mabye its a little cheaper than Subang price. But, beware... The food isn't always clean. My mum caught food poisoning after eating the sambal ikan bakar, probably due to the unclean sambal. She has diarrhea now (i'm at home writing this post, just got back about six hours ago), and even vomited once on the way back. Conclusion, do not go to Cherating for the food. It is not worth it. You can get food just as good in KL.

It was raining so heavily till the scenery turned kinda white.

Cherating, Day 1

I was seriously freezing.
This was without air-cond and fan in the room.

Hello everybody. I'm currently in cherating, Kuantan, Pahang. Erm, i arrived yesterday, after a long four hours but very scenic drive. I'm staying in The Legend Hotel. So far, it has been raining non-stop since I got here. I think it only stopped raining for like 15 minutes... And there definitely is no sun, its cloudy and cold all the way. I seriously feel like i'm in Genting Highlands as opposed to Cherating.

The showroom (222).

We (my family) are staying in room 222, which is a showroom. Previously, we were in another room, which smelled really funky and musty... Eewww, so after the complains, luckily they gave us the show room, which is much cleaner and no weird smells. My only complain would be that there is a leak in the toilet...

Can you see the white water and the murky brown colour of the ocean?
The waves even forms into barrels as it breaks into the shore.
The cloudy and rainy skies.

So, i always thought that the water in the east coast was like crystal clear blue and really clean, since i've only ever seen clear and clean waters each time i've been to any island in the east coast. But mabye coz its the monsoon season now and due to the rough and strong currents, the water is really murky and brown in colour. No doubt, normally, since i'm in cherating, the water should be clean, clear, and blue. But now, its brown and probably full of very fine sand...

At the balcony.

Aside from all that, the hotel itself... I think its kinda an old hotel. There is nothing here. No doubt it is very relaxing and peaceful, but coming from the city.... Its a bit tooo relaxing, peaceful, and full of nothingness for me. I kinda miss KL. The pool is kinda murky, and I can't swim in the beach since its raining plus the current is really strong, with huge waves, its kinda scary. Don't get me wrong, i love the ocean and the beach, and usually i'm always at the beach, but this holiday.... I'm always in my room at the balcony. lol. Oh well... Thank God my room is near the lobby and I can access wifi from my room. So at the very least, my gadgets keep me entertained. ;p

I'm holding an umbrella not coz its hot, but coz its raining.

Sick ipod

:( My ipod is currently in the hospital as i'm writing this post. What happened was three days ago, in the afternoon while I was practicing Body Jam, my video suddenly jammed up. So i left it for a while and reseted it and then my ipod was working fine again, but it was lagging a little. Then at night I plugged my ipod into my laptop to charge it and it was still working although it lagged. But when i disconnected my ipod, i lost all of my music and videos!!! I don't know what happened. Then i tried to connect it to my laptop again, but my itunes couldn't detect my ipod. Then my itunes will jam up whenever I connect my ipod to my laptop. I tried reseting my ipod, on a different laptop, downloading the latest version of itunes, but nothing worked. In the end i gave up.

The next day I sent my ipod to an apple shop and the fella said if hardisk spoil, maximum will cost RM560. Shit... Right now, i'm waiting for the apple people to diagnose my ipod and tell me what it is wrong with it. *Sigh* Hopefully I can get back my ipod faster and that the repair bill doesn't cost more then RM200. I'm gonna be so broke.... :(

Gathering The NS Girls.

Lately I’ve been super busy on the weekends – shopping, meeting up with friends, more shopping. Last Saturday I finally met up with my NS girls after missing the last gathering. We went to Monkey Bar in Legend Hotel. The bar was ok ok only. Not big at all. I think the only plus side to Monkey Bar is that they have really good singers.

I ordered Dirty Martini when I was there and…. It wasn’t my taste at all. It tasted very salty and slightly sour-ish. Compared to the French Martini which I had in Skybar, the martini in Monkey Bar was totally horrible. The French Martini in Skybar was soooo good. The food in Monkey Bar is actually quite nice and reasonably priced too. We ordered Malaya Pizza, Chicken Calzone, and Lasagna. They were all good and very cheesy. I love cheesy food.

I know I look kinda red, and my friends look kinda red too. But its the lighting. And i really was a little red, but by the time I got home, my skin colour was back to normal.

Aside from the food and drinks, the company was awesome. We only meet up once or twice a year. But despite seeing each other so rarely, we get along real well. There isn’t a weird vibe which you sometimes get when you don’t see your friends for a long time, and when you guys get together again, its kinda awkward…. But with the NS girls, its really nice, we just click. And it doesn’t feel like the last time we’ve seen each other was like almost a year ago. Hopefully, the next gathering will be in a month time, up in Genting. Hopefully….
